Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Pharmacy Assistant to join our team at UMass Memorial Health. As a Pharmacy Assistant, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our pharmacy services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Comply with all state and federal standards for compounding medications.
  • Proficiently use pharmacy technology and equipment, with the ability to troubleshoot minor technical issues.
  • Prepare and package medications and compounds as needed, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Maintain required documentation in accordance with regulatory and hospital requirements.
  • Conduct medication room inspections in assigned patient care areas, removing outdated medications and supplies as needed.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Current license with the Massachusetts Board of Pharmacy.
  • Certified by one of the national governing bodies, such as the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or the National Healthcareer Association (NHA).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Pharmacy work experience within the past year.
