Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Ultrasound Technologist to join our team at WellStar Health System. As an Ultrasound Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a wide range of technical procedures, including ultrasound exams, to diagnose and treat various medical conditions.
  • Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment, ensuring proper calibration and functionality.
  • Position patients for exams, ensuring comfort and safety.
  • Obtain and review patient medical history, identifying potential contraindications and taking necessary precautions.
  • Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate diagnoses and effective treatment plans.
  • Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities to maintain high standards of patient care.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest medical imaging technologies and techniques, attending training sessions and workshops as needed.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited Sonography Program.
  • Registered Medical Sonographer (RMS) or Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) certification.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • At least 1 year of experience in ultrasound imaging, preferably in a hospital or healthcare setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, prioritizing tasks and managing time efficiently.
