Nonprofit Instructor

Santa Barbara City College - Career Skills Institute is seeking part-time faculty to teach Nonprofit courses at the School of Extended Learning.

As a part-time instructor, you will provide quality instruction and create an environment that emphasizes teaching and learning. You will teach courses such as Introduction to Nonprofits, Strategic Planning, and may have the opportunity to create curriculum for Principles of Fundraising and Grant writing.

• Teach Nonprofit courses, including PROW NC100 Introduction to Nonprofits and PROW NC 101 Strategic Planning
• Create and maintain an environment that encourages free discussion of ideas, interests, and issues
• Develop and implement curriculum for Nonprofit courses, as needed

To be considered for this position, you must have a Bachelor's degree and two years of occupational experience related to the subject of the course taught, or an Associate degree and six years of occupational experience related to the subject of the course taught.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Current or previous experience working in the nonprofit sector
• Experience teaching via Zoom or via hyflex with students participating in-person and via Zoom
• Previous curriculum creation experience
• Previous teaching experience to adults who are entering, re-entering, upskilling, or transforming within the workplace
• Sensitivity to and respect of the diverse and wide range of students in class
• Ability to foster a sense of belonging and inclusion in class
