Job Title: Infant / Toddler / Preschool Teacher

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Infant / Toddler / Preschool Teacher to join our team at Mount Washington Preschool and Child Care Center, Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a nurturing and stimulating environment that promotes the cognitive, social, and emotional development of young children.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with colleagues to design and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum that meets the needs of children aged 0-30 months.
  • Assume responsibility for the classroom, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for children and staff.
  • Provide responsive caregiving, including diapering, feeding, and soothing, to meet the physical and emotional needs of infants and toddlers.
  • Support the Supervisor in maintaining a high-quality program that adheres to state licensing codes and NAEYC standards.
  • Document children's developmental growth through regular assessments, observations, and reports.
  • Communicate effectively with parents through regular conferences and updates.
  • Model positive behavior, attitude, and language for children and colleagues.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

  • Working towards an AA, BA, or MA in Early Childhood Development, Human Development, or a related field.
  • 24 units in child development and 3 Infant/Toddler units.
  • Certifications in CPR, First Aid, and immunizations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced childcare setting.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, and utilize hand and finger dexterity.

  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
