Position Overview:

As a vital member of the healthcare team, the Telemetry Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering exceptional patient care to individuals requiring telemetry monitoring. This role demands a high level of clinical judgment and critical thinking, ensuring that patient needs are met effectively and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients in the telemetry unit.
  • Conduct focused interviews to identify specific patient needs and concerns.
  • Monitor and interpret EKG readings, promptly informing physicians of any significant changes.
  • Record and analyze vital signs, including oxygen saturation, blood pressure, and respiratory patterns.
  • Respond effectively to patients experiencing cardiac distress and administer appropriate interventions.
  • Educate patients and their families on cardiac health and necessary lifestyle modifications.
  • Document patient care plans, nursing diagnoses, and expected outcomes accurately.
  • Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment for all patients.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Active Registered Nurse license in the relevant state.
  • Preferred: Minimum of one year of experience in a telemetry setting.
  • Current CPR certification and compliance with all professional standards of practice.
  • Proficient in computer skills and effective communication.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age and meet all federal, state, and local requirements.
