Shop Worker I

The Shop Worker I will be responsible for loading and unloading field trucks, maintaining the supplies lot, grounds, and facility to provide a clean and efficient working environment.
Key Responsibilities- Verify quantities, load, and unload field trucks with required supplies for efficient work on the jobs.
- Prepare and assemble signs, barricades, and other equipment for job sites as needed.
- Repair and maintain signage and traffic control supplies to ensure they are in proper working order.
- Maintain a clean and orderly supply lot and shop work environment, returning tools and equipment to designated locations.
- Assist in other areas as needed to maintain the vehicles, grounds, and facility, such as cleaning and organizing of plant.
- Participate in other projects and initiatives that drive organizational goals and results.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 0-1 years of experience required.
- Valid For Hire Endorsement with medical certificate and acceptable driving record.
- Ability to pass and maintain a Company forklift license.
- Skilled with hand tools.
- Ability to follow all safety rules and communicate instances where safety was not followed.
- Ability to work independently, make informed decisions, self-motivated, and energetic.
- Excellent ability to work in a team-fostered environment.
- Flexibility to adapt to all situations and work varied hours, possibly working weekends and/or evenings.
- Ability to perform at high levels in a fast-paced ever-changing work environment.
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail and retention of information to efficiently work.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee may utilize ladders and work at heights that require safety protection. The employee will be required to stand for long periods of time, while making and putting together road equipment and therefore using hands to finger, handle, feel, and reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, walk, talk, and hear. The employee is frequently required to move and/or lift to 50 pounds or more with lift assist. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus.
- This position will work in an enclosed shop environment but may travel to off-site locations and therefore require wearing all PPE depending on circumstance which may include dust mask, safety glasses, hard hat, ear protection, high-visibility safety vest and/or pants and/or steel-toed footwear. At times, client contract-driven PPE may also be required.
