About the Role
As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at Kindred Hospital Albuquerque, you will play a vital role in the recovery process for patients with chronic, critically ill, and medically complex conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer medication, perform treatments, and provide patient care under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse.
- Consult with and inform the Registered Nurse of patient activities, symptoms, reactions, and changes in condition.
- Provide pain management techniques and educate patients and families on pain management.
- Administer medication following the five rights of medication administration within scope of practice.
- Assist with rehabilitation and treatment of patients in accordance with the medical plan of care.
- Assist physicians with examinations, treatments, and special procedures.
- Treat patients and their families with respect and dignity, identifying and addressing psychosocial, cultural, ethnic, and religious/spiritual needs.
- Interact professionally with patients/families and involve them in the formation of the plan of care.
- Assist with admitting, discharging, and transferring patients.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited program for Licensed Vocational/Practical Nurses.
- Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse License.
- BCLS Certification.
- Intravenous Blood Certification preferred.
- Minimum six months prior experience in an acute care setting preferred.
Compensation
$30 - $46.88 / hour
