Maternity Services Nurse

We are offering a rewarding opportunity for new graduates to join our team at ECHN as Maternity Services Nurses. This role offers a 1-year new grad program, partnering with our Nursing Education team, and provides a comprehensive training experience in Labor and Delivery; Postpartum; Well Newborn; Scrub; Circulator; and Level II Newborn care.
About the Role- As a Registered Nurse in our Maternity Services department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality direct and indirect patient-centered care, coordinating patient care with the interdisciplinary team, patients, and families, and communicating effectively about patient clinical conditions.
- You will also be expected to utilize critical thinking skills and sound judgment in priority setting and delegation, formulate and implement teaching plans for patients and families based on identified learning needs, and evaluate effectiveness of learning.
This position requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks efficiently. You must have certification in ACLS, NRP, Basic Cardiac Life Support, and Electric Fetal Monitoring within a year after hire date. Labor and delivery experience is preferred.
Key Responsibilities- Perform population-specific comprehensive assessments and re-assessments of maternal and newborn condition and care needs, including psychosocial, physical, educational, cultural, and spiritual aspects.
- Assess and reassess pain, utilizing appropriate pain management tools and techniques, and educating patients and families regarding pain management.
- Develop and revise individualized plans of care as indicated by assessment and patient response to treatment, involving patients and families in the formulation of goals.
- Follow the five medication rights, reducing the potential for medication errors, and demonstrating knowledge of medications and their correct administration based on age of the patient and their clinical condition.

Salary: $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience. Benefits include PL days based off budgeted hours, 3 floating holidays, 401K with a 2% match, Annual BSN Bonus, Certification bonuses, and Career Ladders with monetary rewards.
