Atlanta, Georgia, United States Greenlight Full time
Job Description

Greenlight is a leading fintech company on a mission to help parents raise financially smart kids. We serve over 6 million parents and kids with our award-winning banking app for families. Our platform allows parents to automate allowance, manage chores, set flexible spend controls, and invest for their family's future. Kids and teens learn to earn, save, spend wisely, and invest.

About the Role

We're looking for a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to help keep our platforms, services, and experience running smoothly. As an SRE, you'll work collaboratively across Engineering disciplines to ensure our foundation, security, and reliability meet the highest standards while continuing to innovate. With a people-first mindset, you'll have the opportunity to foster and grow your career in a supportive and empowering environment.

Responsibilities
  • Act as a conduit between product development and platform engineering teams to ensure services meet defined SLA.
  • Facilitate identifying Service Level Indicators (SLI) and define Service Level Objectives (SLO) to assess the stability and reliability of all our applications.
  • Bring efficiency and standardization to our Incident Management culture that thrives on continuous improvement, with a focus on a blameless culture and owning the tooling utilized throughout the incident response process.
  • Be on an on-call rotation to respond to major production incidents that impact Greenlight's customers, document the learnings, and help proactively prevent incidents.
  • Accountable for metrics and monitoring of team services in production, providing data and transparency that helps to track SLOs for a product.
  • Enhance existing services and applications to increase availability, reliability, and scalability in a microservices environment.
  • Build and improve engineering internal tooling, process, and standards with a focus on mature automation to enable faster, more consistent, more reliable, and highly repeatable application delivery.
Requirements
  • Previous experience working as an SRE or as a Software Engineer with a focus on service reliability and deployment.
  • Strong programming skills and development background with a history of working on large-scale products in either Kotlin, Java, Node, or TypeScript.
  • Experience implementing monitoring and alerting for services and establishing SLOs for services. We use DataDog, but other tool experiences are fine.
  • Deep experience with containerized technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker.
  • Strong understanding of working in a cloud-native ecosystem (AWS experience is a plus).
  • Building/maintaining CI/CD pipelines (we use GitHub Actions and runners, but will consider experience with other CI/CD tooling).
  • Experience working with Terraform and Helm is a plus.
Perks at Greenlight
  • Medical, dental, vision, and HSA match.
  • Paid life insurance, AD&D, and disability benefits.
  • Traditional 401k with company match and Roth IRA.
  • Unlimited PTO.
  • Paid company holidays and pop-up bonus holidays.
  • Wellness & professional development stipends.
  • Mental health resources.
  • 1:1 financial planners.
  • Fertility healthcare.
  • 100% paid parental and caregiving leave, plus cleaning service and meals during your leave.
  • Flexible WFH, both remote and in-office opportunities.
  • Fully stocked kitchen, catered lunches, and occasional in-office happy hours.
  • Employee resource groups.

We provide a competitive compensation package with a market-based approach to pay and will vary depending on your location, experience, and skill set. The total compensation package for this position will also include a discretionary performance bonus, equity rewards, medical benefits, 401K match, and more. Greenlight conducts continuous compensation evaluations across departments and geographies to ensure we are keeping our pay current and competitive.
