Electroencephalography Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Electroencephalography Technician to join our Diagnostic Cardiology Unit at Ascension St. Joseph in Elgin, IL. As a combination EEG and EKG Technician, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic electroencephalograph testing, attaching and operating electrodes, and reviewing patient records.

• Perform diagnostic electroencephalograph testing
• Attach, connect, and operate electrodes from specified body areas to leads from electroencephalograph machine
• Review patient's record and instruct patients prior to procedures
• Monitor patient during procedures and report any abnormal findings
• Edit and forward results to attending physician for analysis and interpretation
• Maintain EEG equipment and supplies

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required
• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required
• EKG certificate highly preferred
• 1 year work experience as a EEG Technician strongly preferred
