**Job Summary**

McLaren Lapeer Region is seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our team. As a Medical Laboratory Scientist, you will play a critical role in providing accurate and timely laboratory results to aid in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Conduct a variety of laboratory tests and procedures, including chemical analyses, blood cell counting, and microbiology procedures, to determine the presence and cause of disease.
  • Prepare and analyze blood, plasma, and platelets for transfusions, ensuring compatibility and safety.
  • Operate and maintain complex laboratory equipment, including analyzers, spectrophotometers, and colorimeters, to ensure accurate and reliable results.
  • Develop and implement quality control procedures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of laboratory results.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide accurate and timely laboratory results, and to develop and implement laboratory policies and procedures.

**Requirements:**

  • Bachelor's degree in medical technology, medical laboratory science, chemistry, or a related biological science field.
  • MLS certification within 18 months of hire or transfer.
  • MT/MLS certification preferred.
