Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Load Builder I to join our team at Builders FirstSource. As a Load Builder I, you will be responsible for performing routine loading and unloading of materials within the yard or work site.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble load packages into trucks for delivery to customer job sites.
  • Load and unload materials onto or from pallets, trucks, or customer vehicles, and install strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit.
  • Drive various lifting devices, such as forklifts, to move products, equipment, or materials around the warehouse, shop, or yard.
  • Determine the appropriate weight, composition, and placement of loads based on customer orders and the capacity of delivery vehicles to ensure loads are balanced and safe for hauling.
  • Convey materials to or from storage to designated areas using hand trucks, electric dollies, forklifts, or other devices.
  • Attach identifying tags or labels to materials or mark information on cases, bales, or other containers to provide correct identification of items.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and three (3) months of experience performing similar tasks.
  • Forklift Certification required.
