About the Role

System One is seeking an experienced Chief Estimator to support the growth of their North Texas operations. This role is focused on pre-construction planning, cost estimation, and bid strategy development for large-scale infrastructure projects.

  • Lead project feasibility assessments and pre-bid analysis.
  • Oversee quantity take-offs, cost assessments, and pricing strategies.
  • Prepare detailed and competitive bid proposals.
Key Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in heavy civil construction estimating, particularly in DOT/municipal projects, earthworks, and underground utilities across both public and private sectors.

  1. Identify and evaluate bidding opportunities that align with company goals.
  2. Collaborate with project managers and executives to refine estimating strategies.
  3. Build and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to secure optimal pricing.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • 10+ years of experience in heavy civil construction estimating, including 5+ years in a leadership role.
  • Proven success in estimating projects valued at $25M or more.
  • Expertise in highways, municipal roadways, mass excavation, and underground utilities.
