The Landings Club is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pool Safety Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Aquatic Emergency Response Team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of our members and guests while enjoying our resort-class amenities.
Responsibilities:
- Safeguard and Regulate: Safeguard and regulate the conduct of members and guests, enforcing pool policies, rules, and regulations in a kind and courteous manner.
- Emergency Response: Respond to emergencies and perform appropriate follow-up procedures, including the proper use of equipment in the performance of first aid.
- Water Quality Testing: Test water quality in the pool and maintain appropriate records.
- Pool Maintenance: Assist in the proper maintenance and sanitary upkeep of the pool, pool area, bathrooms, and locker rooms.
- Guarding Rotations: Participate in guarding rotations as instructed by leadership.
- Pool Concierge: Cover pool concierge duties as instructed by leadership.
- Chemical Balances: Assist in maintaining proper chemical balances in both pool and hot tub/spa as directed.
- Incident Reporting: Provide written reports on all incidents following detailed protocols.
- Safety Requirements: Maintain updated safety requirements.
- Pump Room Organization: Maintain organization and cleanliness of pump rooms.
- Training and Meetings: Attend in-service training and participate in staff meetings.
- Swimming Tests: Conduct patron swimming tests to assess ability to swim independently and unattended.
- Customer Service: Provide high-level customer service to members and guests.
- Member Concerns: Work directly with the Aquatics leadership team to resolve member concerns.
- Reporting: Report any member concerns to Aquatics leadership in a timely manner.
- Safety Practices: Perform work safely in accordance with departmental safety procedures and practices behavior that ensures the safety of fellow employees, members, and guests.
- Equipment Operation: Operate equipment safely and report any unsafe work conditions or practices to leadership in a timely manner.
- Shift Work: Work a variety of shifts, as needed, to include nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
- Policy Compliance: Comply with departmental and Club policies and procedures.
- Additional Duties: Perform all other duties as assigned within job scope.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Lifeguard Certification: Lifeguard certification required.
- Experience: 1 year's experience as a certified lifeguard preferred.
- Swim Instructor Certification: Swim Instructor certification is a plus.
- Communication Skills: Outstanding verbal, written, and multi-tasking skills.
- Team Skills: Well-developed team skills, unquestioned confidence, and presence to effectively handle interpersonal relationships.
- Customer Service: Must be able to use tact and understanding when dealing with a variety of customer service problems, including stressful and highly emotional situations.
- Service Mindset: Must have the willingness to provide exceptional service to members and guests.
Physical Requirements:
- Physical Activity: Swims, stands, and walks for 95% of the workday.
- Lifting: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Physical Demands: Stoops, crawls, reaches, and kneels 50% of the workday.
- Weather Conditions: Works outdoors in inclement weather 90% of the workday.
