Job OverviewThis position involves assessing patient needs, communicating with prescribing physicians, and formulating comprehensive treatment plans. You will work closely with rehabilitation team members to ensure optimal outcomes for patients.
Responsibilities:- Evaluate patients' conditions and determine the required treatment
- Communicate with prescribing physicians to clarify expectations and discuss design options
- Formulate comprehensive treatment plans based on input from prescribing physicians, patients, and rehabilitation team members
- Select appropriate prefabricated orthoses or design custom ones to alleviate patient limitations and enhance functioning
- Measure and cast patients, correct molds, and provide design specifications to fabrication labs
- Fits patients with completed orthoses and adjusts them as needed
- Provides instruction on proper use and care of orthoses and follows up with patients to ensure successful treatment outcomes
You will work in a clinical environment, accountable for satisfying all job-specific obligations and complying with organization policies and procedures.
RequirementsTo be successful in this role, you must have a Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of related work experience. Additionally, you should be certified as an Orthotist by the American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics, and Pedorthics (ABCOP).
