Job Summary

The Monitor is a critical role at RH Community Builders, responsible for ensuring the safety and security of residents and staff at our Phoenix Landing emergency shelter. This position requires a high level of attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure a safe and secure facility and program 24 hours a day, including conducting regular safety checks and monitoring resident activities.
  • Engage with clients to create a welcoming environment, providing support and guidance as needed.
  • Pass out client meals and supplies, and prepare coffee for clients.
  • Monitor grounds on an hourly basis for safety concerns, and conduct bag checks for all clients entering the facility.
  • Utilize crisis intervention techniques to assist with de-escalation of situations, prioritizing staff and client safety.
  • Coordinate with Security Contractor for services as needed, and complete support documentation and daily shift reports.
  • Maintain resident sign-in/out log, as well as all other logbooks and records.
  • Answer telephone and route calls or messages to appropriate staff, responding to in-person and telephone inquiries from the public.
