Academic Physician

Wake Forest University School of Medicine is seeking a highly skilled Academic Faculty Physician to join our team. As a key member of our faculty, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care, teaching and mentoring medical students, and contributing to the advancement of medical knowledge through research and scholarship.
Responsibilities:- Provide primary medical care services to patients, including ordering laboratory and radiology tests, referring patients to specialists when necessary, and analyzing reports and test results to diagnose conditions and propose treatment options.
- Prescribe pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens to treat identified and documented medical conditions, while discussing potential side effects with patients and ensuring that all allergy information is up-to-date.
- Provide advice to patients on lifestyle and diet changes that may improve their health or help to treat the health issue they are experiencing.
- Collaborate with specialists to explore patient health conditions and diagnose health issues, while working in a team of healthcare professionals to ensure positive, effective patient experiences.
- Contribute to the advancement of medical knowledge through research and scholarship, including publishing papers, presenting at conferences, and participating in educational programs.
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
- Successful completion of residency and licensure in the State of North Carolina.
- Board certification in primary care or related field.
- Experience providing primary care and diagnostic services in a clinical setting.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
