Job Summary

As a Principal Project Engineer at Cubic, you will provide technical leadership and engineering management for the Port Authority Trans-Hudson project team. This role requires strong technical expertise, effective communication skills, and the ability to progress engineering solutions for project needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical guidance and leadership to the engineering team.
  • Apply systems engineering processes and skills to convert customer needs into designs that meet technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
  • Responsible for systems engineering planning, scheduling, and execution of requirements analysis, system design, analyses and trade studies, hardware/software design oversight, requirements verification, system integration, and system-level tests.
  • Work with customers to diagnose and troubleshoot software and hardware problems and provide assistance with application and program installation.
  • Manage the creation, maintenance, review, and QA of System Design documents and artifacts in accordance with the contract, company processes, and the project Engineering Management Plan.
  • Interface with customers on engineering requirements, designs, issues, planning, and status updates.
Requirements
  • Four-year college degree in Electrical or Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline, preferred.
  • Eight (8)+ years of related experience or an applicable Master's degree with six (6)+ years of related experience.
  • Experience in creating, analyzing, documenting, and testing system and subsystem designs.
  • Familiarity with project management principles.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Some leadership experience working with and building teams.

Benefits

The Cubic pay range for this job level is $140,000 - $170,000 + benefits.

Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
