Position Summary:
The Registered Nurse in Gastroenterology is responsible for delivering high-quality nursing care to a diverse patient population, including neonates, children, adults, and the elderly. This role requires the application of the nursing process to ensure continuity and excellence in patient care, aligning with the mission and policies of the Nursing Department and Hospital Administration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer nursing care utilizing established protocols and best practices.
- Demonstrate proficiency in caring for patients across different age groups.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Current New York State RN License.
- Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
- 1-3 years of experience in Medical/Surgical nursing; Endoscopy experience is preferred.
- Certification in BLS, ACLS, and PALS is mandatory.
Work Environment:
This position is based at Vassar Brothers Medical Center, with a per diem work schedule, primarily during daytime hours. The role requires flexibility to cover shifts as needed.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform significant manual tasks and maintain dexterity.
- Capable of handling physical demands, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Exposure to various environmental factors, including noise and odors.
