Job Overview:
The Facility Maintenance Specialist is tasked with ensuring the overall cleanliness and upkeep of equipment, premises, and outdoor areas. This role is commonly known as a Sanitation Technician. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough cleaning tasks, including using compressed air and other methods to clean machinery.
  • Scrub, sanitize, vacuum, sweep, and mop various surfaces.
  • Manage waste disposal, address spills, replace air fresheners, change light bulbs, secure premises, paint, maintain water coolers, and prepare facilities for events.
  • Clean offices, restrooms, break areas, and other spaces.
  • Assist in moving furniture, supplies, and equipment as needed.
  • Apply pest control measures, maintain outdoor areas, and clear walkways of snow or debris.
  • Engage in safety initiatives, utilize Personal Protective Equipment, and report maintenance needs or safety hazards.
  • Keep track of maintenance records, monitor cleaning supplies, and restock as necessary.
  • Operate powered industrial vehicles for loading and unloading tasks.
  • Consistently adhere to efficiency and safety standards for the role.
  • Follow directives from supervisors.
  • Maintain a tidy and organized work area.
  • Perform additional tasks as required.

Additional Duties:

  • Assist in other production roles as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to recognize colors and sizes, and accurately count and sort items.
  • In certain locations, certification to operate powered industrial vehicles may be required.
  • Basic understanding of cleaning products and procedures, or willingness to learn.
  • Capability to prioritize multiple tasks and collaborate effectively with a team.
  • Ability to work independently and follow written or verbal instructions.

Education:

  • No formal education required.

Typical Physical Activity:

  • Physical demands include standing, walking, bending, reaching, twisting, working in confined spaces, overhead reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 90 lbs.

Typical Environmental Conditions:

  • Work in both indoor and outdoor settings typical of an industrial laundry facility, involving large machinery, office environments, and exposure to varying temperatures, odors, humidity, lint, and dust.
