Job Summary

The Webbbington Academy seeks a highly skilled and dedicated Educational Support Specialist to join our team. As an Assistant Teacher, you will play a vital role in preparing weekly lesson plans, teaching the curriculum, and managing daily classroom activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Curriculum Development: Coordinate and implement educational curriculum by developing classroom activities based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards.
  • Leadership and Coaching: Lead by example, encouraging teaching team success through modeling and coaching.
  • Activity Planning: Plan individual and group age-appropriate activities to actively engage children and encourage social, cognitive, and emotional growth.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all center policies and state regulations are met.
  • Classroom Environment: Maintain a healthy classroom environment, including hygiene and cleanliness standards, and safety and security of children.
  • Supervision: Supervise teacher assistants and classroom volunteers to ensure they are following planned activities, hygiene, and safety standards.
  • Professional Development: Maintain a personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.
Requirements
  • Education: Technical College Early Childhood Education Certificate or enrolled in an Early Childhood Educational Program.
  • Certifications: Child Development Associate (CDA), Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education (preferred).
  • Experience: A minimum of 1 year experience in a childcare setting.
  • Training: Complete all required annual training.
