Saur Americas is seeking an Electrical Designer to join our team. As an Electrical Designer, you will play a crucial role in the design and assembly of control panels for our installations.

Job Summary

This is a full-time position working Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm. The ideal candidate will have an Associate's degree in Electrical Design or Industrial Automation, with previous experience in product design, manufacturing engineering, or related fields.

About the Role

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Making calculations regarding components and systems to be applied.
  • Discussing and analyzing customer and project specifications with the project team and sales department to translate them into an electrical design.
  • Testing and checking the electrical design for specifications, manufacturability, and standardization principles.
  • Developing the electrical design in detail in control principles, diagrams, and arrangement drawings for production and electrical field work.

You will also be responsible for assessing pre-calculations, planning and drawing up cost estimates based on order, elaborating electrotechnical designs in material lists and drawings for production, and analyzing hardware problems, drafting and implementing improvement proposals.

In addition to these responsibilities, you will support with material specifications, article control, and assessment of instrumentation for the purchasing process, supervise colleagues in the assembly of control panels and assembly of cabling, draw up regulations and instructions for maintenance and operation, advise on spare parts to be applied, and manage the technical file of company-specific panels.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and be able to work effectively with internal and external colleagues, customers, and suppliers. They will also be responsible for recording agreements with regard to the electrical design, identifying opportunities and risks, providing input for the application of new technologies and developments, and performing all occurring activities that can reasonably be required.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • An Associate's degree in Electrical Design or Industrial Automation, preferred.
  • Previous engineering experience related to product design, manufacturing engineering, or related experience required.
  • 1-3 years of job-oriented experience in the field, preferably in the process industry.
  • Practical insight into electrical installations.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products.
  • Experience with Eplan P8 and/or AutoCAD, preferred.

Additionally, you must be a U.S. Citizen, have basic shop math and measurement skills, basic reading and interpretation of blueprints/drawings, and be able to work overtime as required.

Benefits

Saur Americas offers a competitive salary range of $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience, as well as benefits including group medical, dental, vision, 401(k) match, paid vacation, paid holidays, and paid sick time.
