Key Responsibilities- Perform a wide variety of skilled physical therapy treatments for patients based on physical therapy evaluations and goals completed by the physical therapist.
- Precept PT technicians or other physical therapist assistants and evaluate the learner's competency per department guidelines.
- Document patient treatment and progress toward goals.
- Complete department records for billing and statistics.
- Instruct physical therapy and physical therapist assistant students.
- Provide skilled physical therapy treatments to a wide variety of patients.
- Design and teach exercise programs to meet PT goals.
- Fits and teaches patients to use ambulatory devices, including braces, walkers, canes, and crutches, safely to navigate stairs, curbs, and uneven ground.
- Teach patients airway clearance techniques and perform chest PT procedures.
- Instruct patients and families in home exercises, ambulation, and use of adaptive equipment for discharge.
- Graduation from an accredited two-year Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- No prior experience required.
