Laborer Forestry

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Laborer/Maintenance-Forestry to join our team at the City of Fargo, ND. As a key member of our forestry crew, you will be responsible for performing skilled manual duties in brush chipping and assisting Arborist crews with pruning, tree and stump removal, tree planting and care, and running related equipment.

• Operate brush chipper to collect and clean up branches and tree debris
• Assist Arborist crews with pruning, tree and stump removal, and tree planting and care
• Perform minor maintenance functions on equipment and vehicles
• Communicate effectively with crew members and the public
• Work in a team environment to achieve forestry goals

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid commercial driver's permit (CDL) within two weeks of hire
• Knowledge of grounds-keeping practices and minor mechanical equipment maintenance
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

This is a seasonal position that requires working outdoors in all weather conditions. You will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
