Lead Aircraft Technician

The Aircraft Lead Mechanic plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient maintenance of aircraft at Line Maintenance Stations. Reporting directly to the Supervisor Line Maintenance, this position requires strong leadership and technical skills to supervise maintenance personnel and ensure compliance with authorized work documents, manuals, and CFRs.
Responsibilities- Supervise maintenance personnel to ensure work is accomplished safely, timely, and in compliance with regulations.
- Review logbook pages and non-routine maintenance for discrepancies and take prompt action when required.
- Debrief flight crews regarding discrepancies and advise Supervisor Line Maintenance accordingly.
- Coordinate repairs and corrective actions with Supervisor Line Maintenance and Maintenance Operations Control.
- Ensure materials required for DMIs and Watch Items are identified and provided to MOC as applicable.
- Provide and document OJT for assigned crew and/or shift.
- Ensure good housekeeping practices and standard safety measures are in effect to protect personnel, equipment, and property.
- Accomplish Shift Turnover Logs for each shift and perform additional tasks as specified in the GMM Chapter 70.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Hold a current Airframe and Powerplant Certification.
- Valid, unrestricted Driver's License.
- Must meet recent experience requirements in accordance with 14 CFR 65.83.
- Ability to lift up to 85 lbs., clearly write, read, and speak the English language, and work in a fast-paced environment.
