Position Overview:


In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the management and development of programs aimed at treating patients with intricate wounds, including but not limited to fistulas, pressure ulcers, ostomies, and incontinence.


Key Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Engage in hospital-wide committees and quality enhancement teams to advocate for superior skin and wound care practices that are grounded in evidence-based methodologies.

Assist in patient evaluation, diagnosis, planning, execution, and assessment of a skin care regimen designed to prevent or enhance patient outcomes, which includes advising on pressure relief devices and treatment alternatives.

Lead and guide interdisciplinary teams focused on the prevention and management of pressure ulcers.

Qualifications:


Enhance and restore patient health by executing the nursing process; collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members; providing both physical and emotional support to patients, their families, and friends; supervising assigned personnel; and employing evidence-based practices.

Foster a collaborative environment among healthcare teams by effectively communicating information; responding to inquiries; building rapport; participating in team problem-solving initiatives; and creating a compassionate atmosphere by offering emotional, psychological, and spiritual support in alignment with our mission.

Demonstrate the INURSE values through integrity, nursing excellence, unity, respect, scholarship, and evidence-based practice.

Contribute to departmental operations by maintaining equipment; fulfilling preventive maintenance obligations; adhering to manufacturer guidelines; troubleshooting issues; requesting repairs; managing equipment inventories; evaluating new tools and techniques; and maintaining nursing supply inventory by anticipating needs and utilizing resources effectively.

Job Specifications (Minimum Requirements):

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Comprehensive understanding of various medical equipment.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills along with critical thinking capabilities.
Ability to administer medications in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Ability to adhere to National Patient Safety Goals.
Ability to interpret laboratory and diagnostic results in relation to patient status.
Ability to communicate effectively across all disciplines using SBAR.
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Exhibit a courteous, kind, and compassionate demeanor while supporting the organization.

Clinical competencies include Bedside Manner, Infection Control, Nursing Skills, Physiological Knowledge, Medication Administration, Team Collaboration, Multi-tasking, Active Listening, Verbal Communication, and Health Promotion and Maintenance.


Education and Certification Requirements:
ACLS certification for ED/ICU areas is required; BLS certification for Med-Surg areas is mandatory.
Bachelor's degree in Nursing is preferred; a College Diploma in Nursing is required.
A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience is necessary.
Must hold a valid Registered Nurse license.
Certification in Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation is required.
