Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Packaging Innovation Manager to join our team. As a key member of our R&D department, you will be responsible for shaping and leading the development of new packaging solutions that meet our business innovation, ESG, and growth targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to lead new package development based on consumer insights, delivering targeted consumer benefits and key claims while meeting cost targets.
  • Leverage digital tools such as CAD, modeling, and simulation to streamline package development and guide the team to deliver right-first-time initiatives.
  • Maintain accountability for best practices throughout product and process design, implementing methods for measuring performance to monitor the technical integrity of products.
  • Knowledge of external vendor ecosystems and capabilities, as well as new packaging industry trends.
  • Manage annual developmental budgets, track expenses, and oversee project development OPEX. Deliver NPI and CIP on schedule and in full.
  • Manage contributions of 0-5 direct reports.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Packaging Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Polymer, Plastics, or Chemical Engineering.
  • Work experience: 6+ years (for MS candidates) or 8+ years of new package development/technology transfer in CPG, food, or pharmaceutical companies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical knowledge to shape team deliverables and assess/manage risk. Strong understanding of packaging development work processes.
  • Experience working with regulated products (OTC drugs, pharma, med devices, etc.).
  • Confident and articulate communicator (both written and verbal), with the ability to convey and present complex information to others clearly and logically.
  • Strong leadership and critical thinking skills, with the ability to work and lead the team independently, seeking guidance as required.
