About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Maintenance Technician to join our team at RPM Living. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the overall maintenance and upkeep of our properties, ensuring a safe and comfortable living environment for our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform regular custodial duties, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and removing trash
  • Complete grounds work, including picking up trash, cleaning dumpster areas, trash rooms, and trash chutes, blowing the parking area and sidewalks, removing debris, and power washing
  • Thoroughly clean breezeways, including removing cobwebs, bugs in lights, mopping floors, power washing, and wiping down doors and handrails
  • Execute basic landscaping, including trimming and pruning, watering, monitoring irrigation for damage, and removing dead branches, leaves, and twigs
  • Assist in the preparation of make-ready units, including removing trash from vacant apartments
  • Operate safely various maintenance tools, including power washers, trimmers, blowers, and floor scrubbers
  • Assist in pool maintenance and understand basic pool care, including chemicals reading, making chemical adjustments, backwashing, pool cleaning, etc.
  • Ensure prompt response to emergency on-call and after-hours maintenance assignments
  • Complete work orders and maintenance tasks within 24-48 hours, updating records in the computer system
  • Perform repairs to maintain the community's aesthetics and structural integrity
  • Ensure compliance with company and regulatory policies, including OSHA regulations and safety/environmental laws
Requirements
  • At least 1 year of experience in maintenance or a related field
  • High school diploma or GED
  • General knowledge in a variety of skilled trades, including construction/installation, repair, and maintenance, drywall, basic carpentry, and make-ready
  • Ability to work efficiently and meet deadlines
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Valid driver's license
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the job, including walking, standing, climbing stairs or ladders, and accessing various areas of the property
