Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Itinerant Registered Nurse to provide health services to students within the school system. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care, adhering to established standards and guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct student/patient care, including first aid, medication administration, and invasive procedures.
  • Conduct health appraisals of students and make necessary referrals for vision, hearing, dental, physical disability, and scoliosis.
  • Administer medication according to policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Monitor equipment, supplies, and materials for the school health clinic.
  • Prepare health reports for supervisors, the Board of Education, health department, and State Department of Education as required.
  • Provide resources and training to school personnel on health and safety issues.
Requirements
  • Possess a valid current license to practice nursing in the State of Alabama.
  • Graduated from an accredited school of nursing approved by the Alabama Board of Nursing.
  • Earned an associate degree and possess current CPR certification.
