Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled vascular ultrasound technologist to contribute to our dedicated team of compassionate sonographers focused on patient care and diagnostic excellence.

The department conducts a wide range of vascular assessments, providing opportunities to gain expertise in specialized examinations such as TCD, follow-up endovascular aneurysm repair, and research initiatives.

If you have a passion for education, we collaborate with leading educational institutions to train the next generation of technologists in the field.

This role involves working three 12-hour shifts from Friday to Sunday, with no on-call duties. The position is based at the main facility, serving both inpatients and outpatients. Technologists are responsible for acquiring images, transferring data, and communicating preliminary findings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Exhibit proficiency in delivering pre-procedure and post-procedure patient care, including patient assessments and emergency cardiac care (CPR certification required). Assistance with post-procedure transport may also be necessary.
  • Ensure daily calibration and maintenance of equipment, performing and documenting all maintenance and quality assurance checks. Troubleshoot and report any equipment issues to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Generate ultrasound images of the heart and vascular structures.
  • Participate in staff training and educational initiatives.
  • Monitor and document patient information, maintaining report storage and data systems. Compile and enter data for charge entry and prepare reports, ensuring retrieval of stored information from the automated storage system.
  • Prepare the procedure room and equipment for daily operations, ensuring timely and efficient room readiness between procedures.

Additional Information

Education Requirements:
  • Associate's degree in Sonography, Radiology, or a related field within three months of hire, OR
  • Completion of a twelve (12) month ultrasound program within three months of hire.
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
  • Registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS), Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI), or registry eligible and must become registered within one (1) year from the date of hire. Must maintain registry status and fulfill continuing education requirements annually.
Professional Experience Requirements:
  • No prior experience required.
