About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Formulation Chemist to join our team at TotalBoat + Jamestown Distributors. As a key member of our product development team, you will be responsible for driving innovation and quality in our product lines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and improve formulations for our epoxy, coatings, and adhesives products
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring solutions to market
  • Conduct research and development to improve existing products and develop new ones
  • Ensure quality assurance and compliance with laboratory safety procedures and standards
  • Mentor a team of technical employees and provide technical support
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or comparable
  • 2-5 years of experience with polymer formulations, including experience with epoxies and solvent- and water-based coatings
  • Experience with epoxy is required; experience with paint and adhesives is preferred
  • Knowledge of coatings, formulation tools, techniques, performance metrics, and manufacturing processes
  • 1-2 years of management or people leadership experience and cross-functional team management skills
