About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Diesel Fleet Technician III to join our team at Sysco. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our fleet of vehicles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks on diesel-powered vehicles, including inspections, repairs, and replacements of parts.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections and maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns and ensure vehicles are in good working condition.
  • Diagnostic and Repair: Diagnose and repair complex issues with diesel engines, transmissions, and other vehicle systems.
  • Tool and Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and repair tools and equipment used for vehicle maintenance.
  • Training and Development: Mentor and train junior technicians to develop their skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certification in diesel mechanics preferred.
  • Experience: 5 years of experience in fleet maintenance and repair, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Certifications: ASE certifications in diesel mechanics and other relevant areas; EPA section 608 certification.
Working Conditions

This role requires working in a fast-paced environment with frequent exposure to mechanical parts, tools, and equipment. The ability to lift, bend, and stand for long periods is required. Regular travel to other locations may be required.
