About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse Lead to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health. As a key member of our nursing department, you will be responsible for providing leadership and guidance to our clinical staff, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and promoting a positive work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide work direction and guidance to clinical staff, ensuring the efficient coordination of resources and the smooth flow of patients through the department.
  • Support direct patient care by performing the nursing process, delivering safe, therapeutic, and quality care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Coordinate the needs of the patient care team, promoting communication among patients, families, hospital departments, and medical staff to optimize interdependence.
  • Act as a resource to employees, providing training, orientation, and day-to-day work direction, and giving input on performance.
  • Assist with human resource responsibilities, including interviewing and selection of new employees, resolution of employee concerns, and employee morale.
  • Monitor employee assignments, maintain staff scheduling, evaluate staffing levels, and make adjustments as necessary to maintain productivity.
  • Monitor the quality of care provided, ensuring policies and procedures are followed in compliance with the medical center, nursing department, and regulatory agencies.
  • Provide input to budget and ensure adequate supplies and equipment are available for patient care and a safe work environment.
  • Work with management to develop new and existing programs and services.
Requirements
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the team member practices.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 6 months.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
  • Typically requires 5 years of experience in clinical nursing within an acute care setting.
