Job Type: 1099 contract position for year-round Special Education teaching support

Position Overview:
We seek a passionate and experienced Special Education Teacher for our kindergarten through second-grade students. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to high-level individualized education, a background in working with support staff and therapies, and a specific interest in or experience with dyslexic reading support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement yearly learning plans tailored to meet the unique needs of each student.
- Collaborate with parents and therapists to integrate and support students.
- Provide direct instruction to students in small group 1:3-1:4 or individual settings, utilizing a variety of teaching strategies and techniques.
- Monitor and assess student progress regularly, adjusting instruction to ensure academic growth and development.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records on student performance and progress.
- Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers to provide updates on student progress and to collaborate on strategies for support.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in special education and dyslexic reading support.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in special education or a related field.
- State certification in Special Education.
- Experience working with kindergarten through second-grade students.
- Strong understanding of various disabilities and their educational implications.
- Experience collaborating with support staff, including speech therapists, occupational therapists, and other related service providers.
- Knowledge of or experience with dyslexic reading support and interventions is a plus.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
