Heavy Equipment Production Specialist

At Wabtec, we're revolutionizing the way the world moves for future generations. We're seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Production Technician to join our team.
Job SummaryWe're looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to perform quality validation testing on all Nordco equipment. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing troubleshooting sequences to identify non-conformance and communicating repairs required. They will also write reports as needed and may be required to work on multiple assignments simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities- Safely perform functional testing of all NORDCO track maintenance of way equipment using approved test procedures.
- Audit assembly to design for internal and external specifications.
- Perform troubleshooting on issues found during the testing process.
- Communicate completion of final testing of production and prototype machines.
- Work with engineering, production, and/or R&D on problems with the machine build process or machine testing prior to shipment.
- Assist with creation and maintenance of test procedures.
- Requires a High School diploma or equivalent.
- Training on heavy equipment and measurement tools, including flow meters, pressure gauges, and voltage meters.
- Minimum of 5 years of troubleshooting or related experience with heavy equipment.
- General mechanical skills.
- Proficient working with hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic controlled circuits, including PLC and CAN-bus systems.
- Ability to interpret electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical schematics and drawings.
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve equipment problems.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel for reporting purposes.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and is frequently exposed to dust, oil, grease, fumes, or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment can be loud at times and may require the use of hearing protection.
The employee is frequently required to handle or lift objects up to 50 pounds, use tools or controls, and communicate with other employees. The employee is frequently required to stand, climb, walk unassisted, bend, sit, and reach with hands and arms.
