Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Information Assistant/Scribe to join our team at the Orthopaedic Institute for Children. As a key member of our clinical care team, you will provide administrative support to Orthopedic Physicians and contribute to the delivery of exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Documentation and Data Management: Accurately document patient information, history, and physical findings in the electronic medical record.
  • Result Tracking and Communication: Follow up on laboratory and x-ray results, and communicate with physicians and staff as needed.
  • Admission, Transfer, and Discharge Support: Assist with patient admission, transfers, and discharges, ensuring seamless transitions and accurate documentation.
  • Chart Auditing and Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough chart audits to ensure completeness and accuracy, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other tasks and responsibilities as assigned or requested.

  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Attention to Detail and Accuracy: Maintain high levels of accuracy and attention to detail in documentation and data management.
  • Organizational and Time Management Skills: Prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Confidentiality and Discretion: Handle confidential information with strict confidentiality and discretion.
  • Adaptability and Flexibility: Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in response to changing priorities and workload demands.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Education: Regionally accredited Bachelor's degree in a science-related field.
  • Experience: Prior scribe experience required.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Detailed knowledge of medical terminology, ability to distinguish different exams and medical diagnoses, and proficiency in using various computer programs.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of E/M codes, Cerner and EPIC EMR experience, and willingness to work a flexible schedule.
