Nurse Supervisor - Home Visitor

The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) seeks a highly skilled Nurse Supervisor - Home Visitor to join our team. As a key member of our Nurse Family Partnership (NFP) program, you will provide reflective supervision, community outreach, and comprehensive nursing services to women and their families.

Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to the NFP model of home visitation and maintain the highest standards in clinical nursing practice.
  • Oversee the recruitment and hiring of nurse home visitors and administrative data support staff.
  • Support policies, procedures, guidelines, and standards of NFP and the lead agency.
  • Assign client caseloads and monitor nurse home visitors' ability to build and manage caseloads.
  • Ensure that all NFP nurse home visitors complete assigned education and adhere to the NFP model.
  • Develop therapeutic relationships and utilize concepts of reflection and motivational interviewing with women and their families.
  • Oversee and ensure timely and accurate data input and utilization of web-based reports.
  • Develop and implement regular reflective practice supervision within the program.
  • Carry a client caseload as appropriate.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing and five (5) years of related experience required.
  • Master's degree in Nursing and five (5) years of related experience preferred.
  • Experience with the Nurse Family Partnership model preferred.
  • Two years recent experience in maternal/child health, public health, home visiting, or mental/behavioral nursing preferred.
  • Currently licensed or licensed by endorsement as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing required.
  • Current CPR Certification required.
  • Valid Driver's License and insured automobile required.
