Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled MIG Welder to join our team at Ditch Witch. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for welding components used to build our equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical manuals, and other documents to ensure accurate assembly and welding.
  • Set up fixtures, mount parts, and perform mechanical assembly using hand and air tools.
  • Operate MIG welding equipment to weld machine components, ensuring high-quality results.
  • Use a hoist to lift and position large components and completed weldments.
  • Inspect and test weldments to ensure quality and accuracy.
  • Use a computer to check inventory, routing, and record transactions.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Appropriate MIG welding experience or completion of a formal welding training program.
  • Pass required entry-level plate test for production welding.
  • Excellent mechanical skills, including experience with hand and air-powered tools.
  • Strong reading, clerical, and basic math skills.
Work Environment

Our manufacturing plant is a fast-paced environment with variable temperature, humidity, noise, and dirt. You will be required to wear personal protective equipment, including a welding hood, gloves, and sleeves, safety glasses, face shields, and hearing protection.

Physical hazards include powered vehicle, bicycle, and pedestrian traffic, sharp objects, moving machinery, electrical arc-welding equipment, and materials handling.

Working with hazardous materials, including solvents, oils, grease, and pressurized gases.

A variable work schedule, ranging from 8-12 hours daily, with overtime paid after 40 hours per week, and some scheduled work on Saturdays.

Physical Functions
  • Ability to handle items weighing over 60 pounds from floor to knuckle.
  • Ability to handle pull or push items up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to handle items up to 35 pounds from knuckle to shoulder.
  • Ability to handle items up to 25 pounds from shoulder to overhead.
