SUMMARY

This position is responsible for executing daily teller operations in both lobby and drive-up settings. The role emphasizes delivering exceptional customer service and fostering client relationships by identifying opportunities for additional retail products and services. This is an advanced role, typically requiring a minimum of one year of prior teller or cash handling experience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: other duties may be assigned.

Efficiently process the expected volume of teller transactions daily using our current teller platform. Transactions encompass processing deposits, loan payments, mortgage payments, credit card payments, escrow payments, cash advances, check cashing, official check purchases, gift card sales, travel card sales, proof transactions, and currency exchange. Utilize 360View effectively, including Activities, Incidents, and Referrals to business partners. Referrals may include Retail, Commercial, Payment Services, Treasury, Wealth Management, and Home Loan departments. Ensure compliance with Reg CC and bank policies regarding holds and adhere to all check and cash handling standards. Mentor Teller I employees. Adhere to all check and cash handling standards, meeting or exceeding bank cash balancing requirements. Demonstrate compliance with all banking regulations pertinent to assigned job functions and responsibilities. Stay informed on regulatory changes; follow all bank policies and procedures and complete all required training. Embrace the vision, mission, and values of First Interstate Bank.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

High School Diploma or GED; one or more years of work experience in banking, finance, business, or a related field.

EDUCATION &/or EXPERIENCE

High School diploma or general education degree (GED).

OTHER SKILLS & ABILITIES

Attention to detail, including verbal and written instructions; maintain confidentiality; effective use of tact and diplomacy in interactions with clients and colleagues; proficient in personal computer use, including Word/Excel software programs, and strong 10-key skills preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rates and percentages and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uncomplicated written or oral instructions. Ability to address problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, stand, walk, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee frequently is required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
