Electrical Instructor Position

We are seeking a highly qualified Electrical Instructor to join our faculty team at the Louisiana Community and Technical College System. As an Electrical Instructor, you will be responsible for providing and supporting classroom instruction for the Electrical program, demonstrating and applying a thorough and accurate knowledge of the teaching field and discipline, and maintaining student discipline through effective classroom management.

• Provide and support classroom instruction for the Electrical program
• Demonstrate and apply a thorough and accurate knowledge of the teaching field and discipline
• Maintain student discipline through effective classroom management
• Prepare and provide course syllabi and instructional materials to students
• Evaluate and review students' progress in attaining goals and objectives
• Maintain office hours for student consultations
• Maintain a safe, orderly and up-to-date lab area for the application of multiple labs within the Electrical curriculum
• Develop and maintain professional relations with the industry through industry visits and advisory committee meetings
• Keep appropriate records of testing and grading, as per college standards
• Utilize technology to access data, maintain records, generate reports, communicate with others and facilitate learning
• Attain, maintain and review program certification requirements, as appropriate
• Fulfill professional assignments in accordance with the South Louisiana Community College calendar and contractual obligations

• A Bachelor's degree with at least two (2) years of directly-related occupational experience and skill in the field to be taught
• An Associate's Degree and three (3) years of occupational experience and skill in the field to be taught
• A relevant Certificate and four (4) years of occupational experience and skill in the field to be taught
• Five (5) years' work experience in the teaching field to be taught
• Must have relevant current professional certification and or licensure in the field to be taught
• Must have appropriate educational qualifications, as determined by the relevant programmatic accreditation agency, to act in the required positional role
