Overview:

This position involves greeting customers at the register, scanning items, handling sales, refunds, and exchanges, and utilizing the cash register to finalize transactions. Additionally, the Cashier Associate may be tasked with training, maintenance, and stocking duties, similar to those of a team player at Cnrgstores. As the first and last point of contact for customers, it is essential to create a positive experience by greeting each customer upon entry and expressing gratitude as they leave.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Embody and uphold the mission and values of Cnrgstores.
  • Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently, including credit cards, cash, and checks.
  • Welcome customers as they enter and exit, fostering a friendly atmosphere.
  • Verify product quantities, descriptions, and prices to ensure transaction accuracy.
  • Manage returns, exchanges, and sales of merchandise effectively.
  • Answer incoming calls promptly and courteously.
  • Handle payments for commercial accounts and assist with credit applications.
  • Complete and organize due tickets for customer pickups.
  • File rain checks for out-of-stock items.
  • Count down cash drawers, prepare deposits, and organize for the next day.
  • Utilize credit and check verification systems in accordance with company policies.
  • Ensure efficient handling of paperwork, including daily reports and documentation.
  • Guide customers to products within the store and coordinate with team members for assistance.
  • Maintain responsibility for cash handling and safeguarding company assets.
  • Exhibit a positive customer service attitude consistently.
  • Adhere to all cashier procedures and protocols.
  • Distinguish between similar products accurately.
  • Contribute to maintaining a clean store environment.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

A successful Retail Cashier Associate will consistently demonstrate the mission and values of Cnrgstores. Strong oral and written communication skills are essential for effective interaction with customers, vendors, and team members. The ideal candidate will be customer-focused, team-oriented, and possess excellent organizational abilities. They should be capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously and have the physical ability to climb ladders, reach, bend, twist, kneel, and lift up to 50 lbs. Additionally, they must be able to accurately count and recognize different denominations of money while maintaining a high level of product knowledge. Flexibility in scheduling, including availability for weekends, evenings, and holidays, is required.
