Job Summary

The Truck Detailer is responsible for performing cleaning and detailing of trucks to ensure they are in excellent condition. This includes washing vehicle exteriors, inspecting for body and component damage, and cleaning and polishing vehicles to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities
  • Wash and clean vehicle exteriors, including wheels and tires
  • Inspect vehicles for body and component damage and report any issues to the supervisor
  • Clean and polish vehicles to a high standard, including interior and exterior surfaces
  • Prepare vehicles for trade shows or display in the franchise showroom
  • Perform daily spot checks of equipment to ensure cleanliness and maintain wash bay equipment and facility to standards of cleanliness
  • Prepare various chemical compounds and soap solutions for cleaning products usage
  • Clean and drain floor sumps as needed to ensure proper water flow to drains
  • Park and move vehicles through facilities and parking lots as needed, and start units online to maintain battery levels as needed
  • Transport vehicles needing deep cleaning to the detail shop as needed
  • Maintain record of washes and vehicle conditions and report to the office to ensure accuracy
  • Clean and maintain the Fuel Island
  • Assist the shop janitor and other technicians as needed
  • Check in and check out of trucks for rental/leasing
  • Perform post-trip inspections and assist with installation/removal of tires as needed
Requirements
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend English instructions and information
  • High school diploma or the equivalent
  • Working knowledge of all cleaning and detailing methods
  • Excellent organization and communication skills
  • Professional personal appearance
  • Must have own tool set sufficient to perform job requirements
