The Lead Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and upkeep of industrial equipment and machinery within a small team of engineers. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems, maintenance procedures, and safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities- Maintenance Scheduling: Develop and execute maintenance schedules to ensure all equipment is in top working condition.
- Collaboration: Work closely with production managers to plan and carry out maintenance activities with minimal disruption to production schedules.
- Equipment Inspections: Perform routine inspections of equipment and facilities to detect and resolve issues before they become major problems.
- Expense Management: Monitor expenses and manage the maintenance budget to ensure efficient resource use while maintaining high standards of equipment performance and safety.
- Team Leadership: Lead and train the maintenance team to promote a positive and productive work environment.
- Installation and Repair: Supervise the installation, repair, and servicing of machinery, equipment, and systems.
- Record Keeping: Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, including work orders, inspections, and repairs.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations, as well as company policies.
- Experience: Over 5 years of maintenance experience in industrial manufacturing, preferably within a chemical plant.
- Management Experience: Experience in management or supervisory roles is preferred.
- Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of maintenance procedures, equipment, and safety protocols.
- Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude toward maintenance challenges.
- Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Software Proficiency: Proficient in maintenance management software and the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Adaptability: Capable of working in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
