Key Responsibilities:

Primary duties and challenges include:
  • Overseeing and managing multiple simultaneous engineering projects and project managers to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Implementing approved engineering budgets and monitoring actual expenditures to maintain budget compliance, analyzing any variances and ensuring justifications for overspending.
  • Leading and supporting maintenance and engineering initiatives to enhance plant performance in terms of safety, quality, delivery, and cost efficiency.
  • Developing engineered solutions to address plant safety and environmental concerns.
  • Contributing to the formulation and execution of a five-year strategic plan for operations, encompassing growth initiatives, sustaining projects, and major maintenance activities.
  • Mentoring and guiding staff, including engineers, manufacturing personnel, maintenance technicians, and electricians, through technical expertise, training, and project leadership.
  • Performing administrative functions such as approving proposals, managing expenditures, enforcing policies, and conducting performance evaluations for the department.
Basic Qualifications:

- B.S. Degree in Engineering
- Over 10 years of experience in the heavy manufacturing sector, preferably in the metals industry.
- 5-9 years of project management experience required.
- 3-5 years of supervisory experience preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

- 10-12 years of expertise in specialized technical areas such as casting, hot rolling, cold rolling, mill finishing, or facilities management preferred.
- 10-12 years of project management experience required.
- 8+ years of supervisory experience preferred.
