Clinical Patient Safety Manager

About the Role
The Patient Safety Manager is responsible for overseeing and implementing systems and processes to ensure the safety of patients in an acute care hospital setting.
This includes monitoring and analyzing patient safety data, developing and implementing improvement initiatives to prevent errors and accidents, conducting safety training for staff, and investigating and addressing any incidents that compromise patient safety.
The Patient Safety Manager develops education and works to influence leaders to achieve measurable improvements in patient safety that will support the sustainability of reductions in medical/healthcare errors and other factors that contribute to unintended adverse patient outcomes.
A high priority of the Patient Safety Manager is to create a culture of safety within the hospital that prioritizes the well-being of patients and minimizes the risk of harm.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze patient safety data to identify trends and areas for improvement
- Develop and implement improvement initiatives to prevent errors and accidents
- Conduct safety training for staff to promote a culture of safety
- Investigate and address incidents that compromise patient safety
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or Healthcare-related field
- California Fire and Life Safety Card within 30 days of hire
- Five years of experience in acute care hospital setting
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Nursing or Healthcare-related field
- Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS) upon hire
- Two years of patient safety experience
