The Medication Aide will administer prescribed medications and treatments to residents in accordance with state regulations and requirements for safe administration.
Responsibilities include observing residents taking medication, noting effects, and documenting required information in medication administration records. The Medication Aide will also support residents with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, socialization, cognition, and physical health.
Critical Success Factors:
- Successful completion of medication assistance training in compliance with state and facility requirements.
- Maintains up-to-date medication certification requirements according to state.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Self-supervising, self-motivating, and willing to collaborate and work as a team member.
- Adaptable and flexible, with ability to manage multiple demands/tasks concurrently.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior direct care experience.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Current CPR certification.
- Meets age requirements according to facility policy and state regulations.
