Job Overview

As a Data Center Electrician with TEKsystems, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of electrical systems within data centers. Your primary responsibility will be to install and maintain electrical conduits, wiring, and related components.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduit Installation:
    • Measure, cut, bend, and assemble electrical conduits according to specifications.
    • Thread and connect wiring through conduits, ensuring proper alignment and compatibility of components.
  2. Wiring and Circuit Installation:
    • Connect wiring in electrical circuits and networks, adhering to safety standards.
    • Install safety and distribution components such as switches, resistors, and circuit-breaker panels.
  3. Preventive Maintenance:
    • Follow a schedule of preventive maintenance on equipment and circuits.
    • Inspect for proper operation, loose connections, overheating, insulation, and other potential issues.
  4. Collaboration:
    • Work closely with other electricians, data center technicians, and facility managers.
    • Coordinate tasks to ensure seamless operations and minimize downtime.
  5. Safety and Compliance:
    • Adhere to safety protocols, including NFPA70E certification.
    • Comply with data center security and access control procedures.

Requirements:

  • Experience: 4-5 years of industrial instrumentation/electrical experience, preferably within data centers or critical facilities.
  • Education: High school diploma or GED.
  • Licensing: Valid driver's license and Electrician License.
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in conduit installation techniques.
    • Familiarity with electrical circuits, wiring, and safety components.
    • Ability to troubleshoot and perform preventive maintenance.
    • Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.

Compensation:

  • Hourly rate: $38.00 per hour (may vary based on experience and location).
  • Contract-based employment with potential for full-time positions.
