Equity Research Associate

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical Equity Research Associate to join our team at Selby Jennings. As a key member of our investment research team, you will be responsible for analyzing financial data, market trends, and economic conditions to provide actionable investment recommendations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive research on companies, industries, and market trends to support investment decisions.
  • Analyze financial statements, earnings reports, and other relevant data to identify key drivers of company performance.
  • Develop and maintain financial models to forecast company performance and identify potential investment opportunities.
  • Prepare detailed research reports and investment recommendations for clients and senior management.
  • Monitor and interpret market news and developments to stay ahead of the curve.
  • Collaborate with portfolio managers and other analysts to support investment strategies and provide insights.
  • Present findings and recommendations to clients and senior management through clear and concise communication.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.
  • CFA designation or progress towards CFA is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with proficiency in financial modeling and valuation techniques.
  • 4+ years of relevant experience in investment research or a related field.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial databases (e.g., Bloomberg, FactSet).
