Pediatric Endocrinology Specialist

Position Overview: Cook Children's Physician Network is seeking a dedicated and board-certified/board-eligible pediatric endocrinologist to join our esteemed team. This role emphasizes clinical practice within a hospital environment, allowing for a focus on patient care.
Team Structure: Our pediatric endocrinology department is led by Dr. Paul Thornton and includes a diverse team of 13 board-certified pediatric endocrinologists, 5 advanced practice providers, certified diabetes care and education specialists, psychologists, dietitians, and social workers. We are proud to host one of the leading centers for congenital hyperinsulinism.
Clinical Environment: The department also features a renowned lipid clinic and a comprehensive care center for congenital adrenal hyperplasia (CAH), alongside 7 additional multispecialty clinics. Our health care system is supported by 3 endowed chairs, enhancing our commitment to pediatric health.
Service Area: Our primary service region encompasses a large population, providing care to over 3 million residents, including approximately 900,000 children under 18. Our integrated health system operates more than 60 primary, specialty, and urgent care locations, ensuring comprehensive access to care.
Professional Collaboration: At Cook Children's, our physicians benefit from a collaborative relationship with over 800 pediatric specialists and primary care providers. The Cook Children's Physician Network emphasizes physician leadership and active participation in the organization’s strategic goals and mission.
