Assistant Roadmaster

Job Summary:

The Assistant Roadmaster is a key member of the Genesee & Wyoming team, responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair activities of the Maintenance of Way (Mo. W) Department. This role involves direct supervision of foremen and indirect supervision of employees, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of rail infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise foremen and employees in the Mo. W Department to ensure compliance with safety protocols and company policies.
• Oversee maintenance-and-repair activities, including track maintenance, signal maintenance, and other related tasks.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operation of rail infrastructure.
• Develop and implement strategies to improve maintenance efficiency and reduce costs.
• Monitor and report on maintenance activities, including progress, issues, and recommendations for improvement.
